Well, not at first. In fact, i didn't even want to go to church that day. But i remember a sermon, possibly years ago, where i was taught that you don't always do things for you. You go to church for God, even when you don't really feel like it.

Well, I'm glad i attended service that Sunday, and i'm glad i "went through the motions," because afterwards, i really DID mean it. It's like the body remembers better than the mind. You may not have ridden a bike in years, but (I'm told) you never forget, because your body remembers the things you've forgotten about. Sunday, it was as if i forgot that God deserves every second of praise and worship we give Him (even more, I bet He'd say). I forgot how truly grateful i am for His gift to all of us, and how unworthy we really are. After doing the motions, and saying the prayers "again," my body remembered how much i love Him, and i had to force the tears back during the songs (I'm such a softie).

So, long story short (too late), thank goodness for "the motions!"Miss Angiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11181418898450855207noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8419267995961299321.post-65154253144999850892009-07-19T20:27:32.881-07:002009-07-19T20:27:32.881-07:00Okay, I am not cyber-stalking, unless you want me ...Okay, I am not cyber-stalking, unless you want me to. Sorry I missed church today. I'm sure it was powerful. I visited another church today, but the Gathering is my home.
Saying things we mean either to others and/or to God? We may mean it AFTER we say it. I think I may agree. The reason I say that is this: I believe it is the same when it comes to our actions. I may have an altruistic thought, but when I really start to think about it, I may say to myself "maybe not". However, when I break the inertia and actually do the thing, not only am I glad I did it, but it creates a desire to do it again. I only wish it was that way with altruism and not sinning.Gregnoreply@blogger.com
